Application Requirements
Film & TV Productions
To be considered for Alabama’s film and television incentives, productions must meet the following requirements:
- Application Timing: Apply at least 30 days before starting any activities in Alabama.
- Minimum Spend: Commit to a minimum of $500,000 in qualified in-state expenditures.
- Start of Production: Begin principal photography (anywhere) within 90 days of application approval.
Music Album Productions
To qualify for Alabama’s music album incentive, projects must meet the following requirements:
- Application Timing: Apply at least 30 days before beginning recording activities in Alabama.
- Minimum Spend: Commit to a minimum of $30,000 in qualified in-state expenditures.
- Recording Timeline: Recording must begin within 90 days of application approval.
Funding Requirements (All Applications)
- Projects must be 100% fully financed at the time of application.
- Applications must include a description of how the project will be financed.
- Documentation verifying secured funds must be submitted to the Alabama Entertainment Office, such as:
- Bank statements
- Written confirmation from a financier or label
- Equivalent proof of funding
Applications will not be approved without satisfactory funding documentation.
